Nikolas PipinisManager, Operations Director

Nikolas was born in Athens in March 1976. He has a BSc in Engineering and a MSc in Oceanography from the university of Athens. He is also Instructor of sailing boats and holds the Ocean Yacht Master of the RYA. He is Open Water Scuba Instructor of CMAS and PADI, and First Aid Instructor of EFR.
He has long experience in Yachting, Ecotourism and Scientific expeditions in Greece and the Mediterranean for the study of cetaceans. He speaks fluently English and French.
He is the owner of the yacht Homo Delphinus, a Lagoon 380, and the skipper on the crewed boards. He is responsible for the total operation of the yacht, for the supervision of the crew as well as ensuring the enjoyment of all guests onboard, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their needs. And, of course, he is the navigator and he plans the Sea-ecotrips itineraries.

Daphne finished her BSc Ecology and Conservation studies in Sussex University and has a MSc degree in Specialised Translation from Roehampton University. For the past three years she has been an active guide in alternative tourism, mainly in outdoor activities. She is a rafting guide, as well as a trekking guide in Trekking Hellas of Arcadia.
She speaks fluently English and knows French. She is multi-skilled and has had a close relation with the marine element since her childhood. She is eager to record the marine biodiversity of the Greek seas as well as to share the knowledge and enthusiasm for sea-life.
Panagiotis RovolisBiologist, Animal Behavior Specialist

Panagiotis was born in Thessaloniki in 1971. He has a BSc in Biology from the University of Athens, Greece and an Honors degree in Wildlife Illustration & Photography from the University of Newcastle in Australia.
He has worked in various projects of research, conservation and rehabilitation of marine mammals, plus he has worked in animal husbandry and as a marine mammal trainer. He is an open water diver & operator of powerboats. On trips he is deckhand, observer, field researcher and marine mammal behavior specialist.
Dimos PipinisHydophone acoustician
Dimos is our acoustician and computer engineer. He is responsible for the operation of our Passive Acoustic Monitoring and Tracking system (Hydrophone array & Pamguard Frontend) that helps us find and localise cetaceans. Also keeping our GIS sightings and effort data updated and gives a hand with the sails too. He loves travelling, sailing, scuba diving, archaeology (Member of Hellenic Institute of Marine Archaeology), and looking with his binoculars for blows! He has a special interest in cetaceans and in their vocalizations and echolocation techniques and in issues of cetacean conservation efforts in the Mediterranean seas.
